I’m Mexican and have quite a diverse background. I studied Physics and got a PhD in Health Sciences. But being aware of the potential that a scientific background offers, and wanting to see my work translated into products and services that solve practical problems in the short term, I decided to start a career in IT.
After moving to Norway and struggling to integrate and truly feel this as my new home, I was fortunate to get a job in the IT department at Trondheim Municipality, where I got to collaborate with both Norwegians and immigrants.
Just like it happened to me when entering a new field, I believe that tech and IT are spaces that welcome people with diverse backgrounds.
